THE SOLE PROVIDER OF SUPPLEMENTAL FOOD IN THE UPPER NORTHERN SUSITNA VALLEY

The Upper Susitna Food Pantry (aka ‘USFP’, ‘the Pantry’) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization recognized by the Food Bank of Alaska as the sole provider of supplemental food in the Upper Northern Susitna Valley.

” It take all of us working together to meet the needs of the families we serve and working together we will wipe out hunger throughout our communities!”

THANK YOU

Upper Susitna Food Pantry is a grant and donation funded organization; it could not function without considerable support from the four communities it serves.Β

  • Mat-Su Health Foundation
  • Food Bank of Alaska
  • KTNA 88.9 FM
  • Jessica Stevens Community Foundation
  • Susitna Community Council
  • Talkeetna Community Council

MAKE A DIFFERENCE

USFP is committed to expanding and improving our services to meet our communities needs through collaboration with federal and state agencies, other non-profit organizations and businesses in our Alaskan community.

COVERING OVER 1,200 SQUARE MILES WITH FOOD SUPPLIES

We work to support our mission by providing people who reside in the Sunshine, Talkeetna, Chase, Trapper Creek, Willow and Caswell Lakes areas (approximately 1200 square miles) with needed supplemental food supplies that help to alleviate food insufficiency.

πŸ₯’ Food security starts with education & innovation.
We’re growing fresh produce in our hydroponic greenhouses to help sustain the pantry! 🌿

πŸ’š Thanks to Alaska Community Foundation and the 2025 Community Food Security Through Gardening Grant! We were able to expand our greenhouse projects and provide a tent for the Community Garden to host classes.

πŸ€“ These young students got to see how the root system of the plants reach down into the water to absorb nutrients from the hydroponic solution, how to pick cucumbers, and about pests in the garden.
