BE INVOLVED

Volunteer

Volunteers are the backbone of the Upper Susitna Food Pantry-we could not function without them. We can always use more volunteers! On Wednesday and Friday our volunteers package and hand out food from our Talkeetna Location. On other days we welcome volunteers to help unload food, work in in the garden, pack food for children’s programs, and help us keep the pantry stocked. Join our community of dedicated individuals who are making a difference. Whether you can spare a few hours or commit to a regular schedule, your help is invaluable. Together, we can ensure that no one in our community goes hungry. Reach out today to learn more about how you can get involved and make a positive impact in the lives of those we serve.

Food Donations

The Upper Susitna Food Pantry gladly accepts donations of food!

Here are some guidelines to help guide your food donation process:

  •   Commercially canned foods: clean, labels intact, no holes or leaks, no bulging sides
  •    Whole fruits & vegetable-we love local grown produce!
  •    Dry, unopened packaged goods (e.g., cereal, crackers, pancake mix, etc.)
  •    Commercial food products must be sealed in their original packaging.
  •    Local wildlife in the form of hunting procurements or ‘road kill’ must be processed by a certified wildlife game processor.

Every contribution, no matter how small, plays a vital role in supporting our mission. By donating food or everyday items, you are helping to nourish families in need and fostering a spirit of community. Your generosity can spark hope and bring smiles to those who rely on our services. Together, we can create a stronger, more resilient community where everyone has access to nutritious food. Join us in making a difference today!

Stop by on Wednesday or Friday afternoons or contact us to arrange a drop off time.

Hold a Charity Event for Us

Many folks would like to support the Upper Susitna Food Pantry but just do not have the funds and/or food available to do so. If you are creative and know some folks around the village why not put together a charity event with all proceeds going to USFP? If you need some additional help in getting such an event off the ground we can offer some assistance. In addition, there are many organizations in town willing and able to assist. Often local businesses are more than willing to chip in time and products to help make such events a reality. Consider hosting a bake sale, a fun run, or even a community potluck where everyone contributes a dish. The possibilities are endless, and every little bit helps. Together, we can create a wave of support that strengthens our community and ensures that no one goes hungry. Let’s make a difference together!
